Dachia and her Fell Pony, Harcala
It takes mental, emotional and physical fitness to enjoy life... and play with horses.  Many of my horse friends couldn't really enjoy their equine partner due to health reasons.  I would often see horse people gathered in the early morning at a horse fair I was attending, and hear them lament about their personal woes while eating  donuts, drinking coffee, or smoking a cigarette.

These people could  quote great research pertaining to their horse, but it seemed when it came to their own bodies, they didn't have a clue where to turn for guidance.  Far too many people think their doctors are a resource for health and wellness.  Most people are unaware that medical doctors have very little, if any, training or education in nutrition, health and wellness.

I found that many horse people took a great deal of time and made quite a bit of effort to keep their horse in top form.  It was with these people in mind that I created The Healthy Horseman, a program designed to help horse people understand health and achieve it, and thereby become the best partner for their horse ; mentally, emotionally and physically.

Let's face it, your horse can be an amazing physical specimen with the best training available, but it takes two.  You need to hold up your end of the partnership or the partnership will not have the success it could.

I'm not perfect...

....but parts of me are spectacular!

I can tell you from experience that if your goals reach you, you can reach your goals.  I have lived all over the world and met some of the best and most interesting people you can imagine.

My goals and priorities are now centered on health and fitness.  Mental, emotional and physical fitness.  And I want to help anyone and everyone achieve that.  To live a vibrant active life till very old age.

I am not just a 'been there, done that' person,  I am a going there and doing that lover of life!
Since my undergraduate days, I have  studied health and actively pursued it.  There were many times when I took the wrong path, followed the wrong advice and just generally screwed up, but I kept at it.  Through the years, I earned a few degrees, including a PhD in holistic health.  I'd like to help you avoid the pitfalls.

There are many things I do very well, but have no interest in.  There are several things I do quite well, and want to do: help people become mentally, emotionally and physically fit is the thing I do best.  If you would like to become a healthy horseman, you've come to the right place.

I have been involved with horses all my life, but Natural Horsemanship for over a decade now.

My passions:

Health, Horses, and Building Great Relationships...

As a personal trainer, nutritionist and lifestyle coach, I spent quite a few years regurgitating physiology textbooks and nutritional guidelines... loads of exercises. And some people had great success and some people were completely frustrated. Why?

I began to throw myself into other avenues of knowledge. I began studying the psychology of people and their behavior. Why do some people continue to do something they know to be wrong for them? Why do so many people not make simple changes in order to be happier and healthier? What is that which we make our decisions by?

I began reading, watching and listening to everything I could find on human behavior, relationships, and communications. I went back to school and took courses all across the board- adult education, psychology, communication, and some more stuff on nutrition and exercise. My studies took me all over the place: Graduate classes in statistics and nutrition at the University of Wisconsin, Russian Kettlebell classes in South Dakota, Yoga in Arizona, and constant research everywhere I land.

In that research, I have continued throwing myself into all material pertaining to health behavior. I stay on top of every piece of information and, if it is useful, I share it. I have spent the greater part of two decades figuring out what works, what doesn't, why we do what we do and why we don't. I can save you time and frustration if you are ready to make this your moment.

Having grown up with horses, it seemed I was often talking with horse people who couldn't understand why they were not achieving the success they worked for.  Too many horse owners cannot work or play at the pace needed to keep up with or challenge their partner.  Sore knees and backs, excess weight, lack of cardio conditioning, and any number of far-too-common health issues plague the country, and I am available to help anyone who has made the commitment.  My background and knowledge of horses and horse people just makes me an obvious choice for any horseman wishing to make the change to a fantastic life.  I can relate to anybody struggling with their lives- feeling they are not living the life they were destined for.

I can help you become the partner to your horse that he deserves.  I also do horse business and communication  consulting, website critiquing for horse and health sites, and I am a personal lifestyle coach.
